The Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a national Initiative implanted at Salinas High through "The Cowboy Way". It is a set of clear, positive behavior expectations to help guide student behavior in all life facets. This is implemented through school-wide lessons, modeling, posters, and more, where these behavior expectations are communicated to students. In addition, the PBIS framework that has been built around the Cowboy Way has provided students with academic tutorials, mentoring, behavior support, and other interventions for students at high-risk distance learning. Although there are support resources in place, a valuable tool was missing from the school, a virtual wellness center. The virtual wellness center was implemented to provide an easily accessible webpage to connect students, staff, and parents or guardians in need of resources and tools to improve their well-being.
